I’d say South Africa for several points:

1. Decent industrial base & relatively good infrastructure, but the economy is mismanaged.

2. Large agricultural land for growing crops/food.

3. Long coastline.

4. Resource/mineral wealth.

They just need a better Government & solve their racial problems.

Eqypt. High population, one of the biggest economy right now overtaking Nigeria.

Nice location near global trade routes, geopolitical importance due location and a hdi similar to South Africa with a growing economy.

Can't compare an Egyptian to a Turk or Persian, Egyptians lack the foresight & IQ to match them.

That's not a good thing for them. The Egyptian govt considers a fast growing population as huge threat to their development. You have 110m ppl trying to eke out a living along the nile while 90% of the country is a desert.

Overcrowded schools, congested cities, not enough jobs for all the graduates etc

They had a much higher standard of living in the 1950s and 60s when their population was smaller

Somalia, It has lots of resources the potential to produce around or more than 30 billion barrels of oil/gas , has around 25% of the world uranium if thats drilled and exported we would be rich and the list goes on and on like longest coastline , tourism potential and etc.
