Ban and forget about tribes, educate the populace to love thier country, but this has to come from the people. But the thing is the country has not moved on for nearly thirty years, so you could have asked the same question then...

relinquishing the idea of qabil in favour of nationalism is wishful thinking, it won't be erased no matter how educated the masses are, because its the equivalent of siding with somalia over your family. Somalia just needs to figure out how to make the country work in the framework of qabil oriented federal states. Collective unity is beyond optimistic, too much blood has been spilt

@embarassing Doesn't it bother you that a mouthpiece for the people orchestrating Somalia's misery is asking "where does Somalia go from here"? Just ask your boss in Doha. The "stream" should bother every Somali person.

Tribalism and a functioning country do not go together.

Its not optimistic, its realistic. The vast majority (young people) wouldn't choose qabil over nation. Once the government can provide what they get from qabil and more, it won't matter.

Relinquishing Qabiil and qabyaalad are two different things that you sir have mixed up. Qabyaalad can be destroyed, Qabiil cannot. It is part of our history and lineage. A meritocratic system in all sectors will bring about unity and prosperity, brotherhood and sisterhood.

Great in theory, overly optimistic in practise.

More bombings
more alshabab
more foreigners. We only have Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Burundi, England, USA, Turkey, UAE Saudi Arabia and Qatar now. Let's invite Russia, Iran, China, and all the others I forgot.
More maamulo goboleeds
More starvation and famines

That's where we will go from here.

Why being pessimistic? The new generations (meaning we) can turn this around inshallah. Become more optimistic.

Damn, why are you so bitter? lol progress is a slow process and there has indeed been major progress the last few years. Why focus only on the negative? AS used to control most of the south including the capital, and we avoided the worst of the famine.
