I live in an area with barely any Somalis.

So like this morning I was at school and I saw a somali on campus. before that I didn't see another somali besides my father, and my somali co worker at the airport. literally I been going to that campus since like 2015 and I haven't seen another somali person there besides me.

anyway I saw the dude asked if he was somali, he said yes, I said wats good, he said he chill. we chill friends on campus now.

I had a similar instance when I was downtown and ran into a somali dude. dude recognized that I was somali and we just had a quick convo.

does this happen to yall as well.

All the time, but I live in a city where there are Somalis every turn u make. It’s really cool and when we run in to each other in random places, there’s always a sense of acknowledgement followed by a “iska waraa sxb”

I don't speak Somali, so I haven't encountered that situation before that I know of.

Noone outside of Somalia will ask you about your qabil , if they do they will be seen as reer badiyo.Qabil if ever discussed is discussed in khat sessions with people from your same subclan or even sub sub clan.

No... however I have noticed that my uncles become qabiliste when there mouths are filled with khat.

yea. Its a lot more closer to the south and near the borders. white people are more racist towards the hispanics then the blacks here.
