When will the government invest in factories and mills?

We need factories that turn raw materials into arms, goods etc. I don’t believe Somalia has even reached the industrial revolution yet, we haven’t even experienced the agricultural age ffs. This is actually depressing.

Not a single factory or plant in Somalia that’s why we have to export all our shit from Kenya and China for cheap and our apartments/hotels look like shit. If we manufactured our own glass, Steel we would have way more aesthetically pleasing buildings. These are projects that I can only see the government implementing because no Somali in the diaspora is willing to invest in such projects. All we know is building #17736292 hotel that looks like shit.

so my question is when will Farmajo and his team invest in creating more manufacturing plants or atleast nationalising and renovating the few shit ones that already exist??

But relying on the government for everything is stupid. If an entrepreneur asked the government for some capital on a joint venture with each party getting a cut off the profit to build mills and factories- it’d be a start. I want us to create steel industries so we can eventually start manufacturing tanks for the SNA.

Major reason the government needs to be strong is to help legitimize and control the flow of cash cause of how shit the financial institutions are in the country. Without a strong government theres no way to direct the flow of cash towards industries that entrepreneurs should focus on developing such as heavy industry and not building the 100th hotel. The government needs to be the starting point in order to help act as a guarantor for foreign investment into the country as well as to help protect against defaulting.

That’s actually a great initiative and was employed by the kacaan. We can curb unemployment completely with that tried and tested method. Open up large factories and get 1000s of people to work in cheap labour but still get the shaqo done. After like decades of this when we have built a strong foundation we can transition to a more capitalistic system so people can have better work conditions.

Too many waste yutes running around shaqo lan hence why their is always violence back home. If you forced them to build roads, buildings, manufacture clothes in plants, join the army(forced conscription) and pay then all just enough to subsist our GDP growth would be exponential. Isxilqaan needs to be made nationwide and incorporate more than just cutting weed in the old stadium and picking up rubbish.
