Somaliland government lying again to its unsuspecting and misguided population, they told them the covid vaccine was from nairobi instead it was from the same flight that delivered it to garoowe, and distributed by the federal government amongst the federal states.

My question is why do the population keep eating up the lies, everything that comes there goes through the same channels as the other federal states.

This post isn't by any means FDK or aimed at insulting any qabil, the man in the video is a somalilander, let's have a constructive conversation.

How long can the pretence continue, it only serves the politicians but what do the real people get out of it, nothing. you might as well be part of it and take your rightful share!

Schollarships? Where are those schollarships you talk about. even pl dont get those. Somalia passport is worthless we have our own. And if we are part of something where is the SNA in SL. Somalia cant make or force people to be a part of something they have no power. Like i said i will believe you if farmaajo visited hargeisa and the blue flag is waving in hargeisa. I don't recall TAX that the collected in Somaliland to be sent to Mogadishu then be redistributed back or the FGS supplementing SL budget through its own revenue.Also with aid/internal donor Somaliland gets it contributes to less than 6% of it's annual budget which mostly comes from the Somaliland development fund (UK & EU) and ESRES (UK AID energy project) both of which doesn't go through Mogadishu at all.Not everything goes through the federal authority....

Its just an example of the many lies they tell their people about being an independent country and not having anything to do with somalia.

People believe whatever their government tell them to believe, it’s not only Somaliland that suffers from this, it’s world wide. Wherever the vaccine came from ( I really don’t know) it makes complete logical sense that the SL claim it didn’t come from Somalia. An important part of Somalilands national identity is the othering of Somalia. This is what cements the people and fosters their loyalty to the clan leadership.

If SL didn’t other Somalia what would be the plausible reason for secession? Because some cadaan who colonised us said we exist? Lacks patriotism. Because we want power for our selves? People might start asking for equity with power share, and if you don’t make them hate the other they might eventually start to thinking about reunification. Hatred and othering delivered through - propaganda is vital to the survival of all states. Saying we should separate because the others have conspired to harm us- is a great explanation. Gives people a very neat and simple story line. And that’s what the masses like. Nuance is too difficult.

So long story short this is not surprising at all. It’s on brand and to be honest the only option they have.
