I remember back in the day, people would call us "Pirates" or "African Booty Scratchers" or just make some dumb insults towards us. Now everybody loves Somalis, has beef with us or is jealous of us. We went from some random Africans to the beauty standard of East Africans. We even have non-somalis claiming they're Somali now. Where did this shift come from?
