Somali insults hit different for some reason, that is why it important to uplift and compliment people in af somali. I say to my nephew "weeynoow abti" all the time and 'ilaahay kheeyr ku sii"

"Balaayo cirka ka soo dhacdey oo naarta ku socotaa ayaad tahay, naaya." Old lady neighbor's favorite. She made sure than she'd dramatically gestured too. Pointing to the sky and slowly dragging her finger downward.

I never insult mothers. Dunno why.
