What's wrong with Somali Business people and their brains around business? look at Mogadishu they will spend 1 million on a shiney new 7 storey tower(even tho my mother said the quality of the build is very low standard and if earthquake happened mogadishu is finished), but my dad pointed out to her 1 millionkasi bay 'daar' gelinayan so they try to sell an image of modernity while it sits there not generating a 'cent' for them becuz their not producing products or services, no wealth is being added, it's a dead investment. My dad said they are still primitive brained and only follow what others r doing even if it's wrong.
So what do u guys say? what can we tell the somali business community about this dangerous trend that is developing where we invest but the investment isn't producing any wealth. Is it time we direct them into manufacturing, banking so their loans r making money while allowing other ppl to open businesss and buy properties?
I know what most of u will say 'agriculture' like a typical turd worlder, agriculture is over-supplied globally, prices r constantly low per unit or tonne, investment cost is high and it's a 'seasonal' business model depending on harvest, not a day to day money maker, the value chain is low never seen a farmer labor ppl generating more spending in the market place.
What do we do waryaa we are in this economic curse.
