War lee ma la wadaaI had no idea there is a place named after me in Somalia? I thought i was an Iraqi, Basra only Honoree???
Whats VBIEDS?To hold it requires the set up of a fortified base to protect against VBIEDS which takes weeks and requires a lot of logistics and man power.
People don't realise how devastating VBIEDS attacks are to an army camp not well fortified and prepared in advance specifically against it
ISIS used this to take over many strong Syrian army bases that were not designed to protect against VBIEDS especially armour plated ones.
Until recent times, no one ever envisaged people were crazy enough to carry out these types of attacks sometimes simultaneously from all side coming at you 100mph.
Whats VBIEDS?

Car like this or a truck loaded with devastating explosive material and sometimes with armour protection driven at high speed by the assailant into a military base.
ISIS would use multiple of these to flatten large bases and kill the majority of the soldiers in the first blast.
This is then followed by foot soldiers who storm the base now that the defenses have collapsed.
It's only effective against armies with bases, al-shabab is a guerilla army, they don't have fixed bases because they know it will be vulnerable to drone/airstrikes.The SNA should use these with remote controlled cars to destroy Al-Shaydan.

To win a guerrilla warfare the citizens have to be on your side and more importantly trust you to protect them which is lacking unfortunately.
What makes these VBIED attacks deadly is that your hopeless even if you spot it early, bullets won't stop it, and RPG with a car moving so fast impossible to hit.
You need anti-tank weapon that costs £60.000 to take out a single 4x4 vehicle that costs max £5000.
In Somalia civilians are the problem, they are worse then the politicians, we get the leaders we deserve, they enable much of the corruption that takes place as well as the callous murders, their character alone is atrocious, this is common knowledge for those that visit. To be frank I think the civilians need to take control. Any politican that is corrupt needs to be hanged for treason. If the army is lacking the civilians need to overthrow them. The people of Somalia have been suffering for too long and feel defeated.
It time to get the country back to its rightful owners. Algeria used to have issues with terrorism but the civilians stood up for themselves.
Look at what happened when their was a military coup in Turkey a few years ago. The civilians were protesting against it and removing soldiers from tanks. We need a no co-operation policy with all enemy forces.
