I have seen it. It is so strange yet so stupid. Its especially more prevalent among girls. If one of them in the group does something a good number of her friends will follow suit. Our community hasn't degenerated like theirs, we are still far from loosing the way. We are more successful and more religous-ish. I haven't heard of this taking place in Australia and I would imagine that it wouldn't. I'll ask my parents for stories, maybe they got some funny/crazy story for me lol.

I doubt this is common place anywhere in the West though. It is possible there may be a few in the west but I wouldn't entertain the suggestion that 5% do it or something lol.
