I don't get this sentiment. I prefer a wife who has her own career and life going for her over one struck at home doing nothing. Cooking and cleaning isn't even that hard and as for kids it's only the first couple of years until they reach school age that they need looking after. After that, set up a plan for how best to nurture your kids so they could reach their full potential and they need minimal care after that.
Life without purpose and goals gets miserable fast. Besides think about what you're passing down to your kids. If both their parents are driven people that pursue their goals, they in turn will inherit those traits. Lastly it's purely an economical net gain if both parents have careers of their own. If something happens to the sole breadwinner of a family there goes finances and stats wise poor finances is one of the biggest reasons for divorce. If both are breadwinners, if one loses their income for some reason you're just back to one breadwinner.
If the only con is cooking and cleaning just get a maid with the added income you both are making
Hillary Clinton type >>>> all imo
