Wasn't all these clan just a bunch of village dwellers?
Probably none of them could solve 5•9= without running out of brain cells.
So why the hell are you guys so heated about a bunch of uninteresting village dwellers?
There's much better, smarter contributing folks in your ancestors than these village dwellers.

Why are you insulting our ancestors? Maybe learn more about Somalis and why clan is important to us. Newsflash, we weren't always one.

I'm not insulting them, all I'm trying say is these Odayaal didn't earned such a high status in 2022.
There many other people who were way more important than these qabiil odayaals

Qabil is your extended family. It probably doesn't seem so important in the West/diaspora but in a tribal society your tribe was your protection and safety net. You belonged to a people and they were responsible for you and, in tough times, had your back.

Qabil is important. Without qabil bunch of Oromos could learn our language and claim to be somali. The thing that is wrong is obviously qabyaalad/tribalism. The remedy for our people is none other than the words of Rasul'lah ﷺ

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ النَّاسِ فِرْيَةً لَرَجُلٌ هَاجَى رَجُلًا فَهَجَا الْقَبِيلَةَ بِأَسْرِهَا

Verily, the greatest liar among people is a man who insults another man by disparaging the entire tribe.

In another narration, the Prophet said:

إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ النَّاسِ جُرْمًا إِنْسَانٌ شَاعِرٌ يَهْجُو الْقَبِيلَةَ مِنْ أَسْرِهَا

Verily, the greatest criminal among people is a poet who disparages the entire tribe.

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

مَنْ أَعَانَ قَوْمَهُ عَلَى ظُلْمٍ فَهُوَ كَالْبَعِيرِ الْمُتَرَدِّي يَنْزِعُ بِذَنَبِهِ

Whoever supports his people in oppression is like a dead camel that falls into a well and is pulled out by its tail.

Source: Musnad Aḥmad 4141, Grade: Sahih

In another narration, the Prophet said:

وَمَثَلُ الَّذِي يُعِينُ قَوْمَهُ عَلَى غَيْرِ الْحَقِّ كَمَثَلِ بَعِيرٍ رُدِّيَ فِي بِئْرٍ فَهُوَ يَنْزِعُ مِنْهَا بِذَنَبِهِ

The parable of the one who supports his people upon other than the truth is that of a dead camel which falls into a well and is pulled out by its tail.

Jundab ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

مَنْ قُتِلَ تَحْتَ رَايَةٍ عِمِّيَّةٍ يَدْعُو عَصَبِيَّةً أَوْ يَنْصُرُ عَصَبِيَّةً فَقِتْلَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ

Whoever is killed under the banner of blind following, who calls to tribalism or supports tribalism, then he has died upon ignorance.

Jubayr ibn Mut’im reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “He is not one of us who calls to tribalism. He is not one of us who fights for the sake of tribalism. He is not one of us who dies following the way of tribalism.”

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Suyuti

Wathila ibn Al-Asqa’ reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, is it part of tribalism that a man loves his people?” The Prophet said:

لَا وَلَكِنْ مِنَ الْعَصَبِيَّةِ أَنْ يُعِينَ الرَّجُلُ قَوْمَهُ عَلَى الظُّلْمِ

No, rather it is tribalism that he supports his people in wrongdoing.

Somalis being very familiar with Islam, the Nabi ﷺ and yet suffer from an issue that has been condemned, warned, rebuked against in the most heated tone brings me to tears and great sadness. Wallahi all we need is to educate ourselves in what we already familiar with Islam!!!. Kids are reciting quran in every corner in a city. I met bunch of kids who have memorized the quran 2 times but couldnt explain what surah Asr meant or was about. All we do is memorize, all we do is touch the surface of our faith, when our faith is so deep, and so much to learn. Of course we have the scholars in Somalia who work day in and day out but they are few and those who spread evil are numerous. I pray to Allah that Allah guides our people. Islam is the solution not democracy, federalism, 4.5 system only our faith that every child is acquainted with.

Just say we have stupid priorities.
There's nothing important about memorising a bunch of village dwellers names.
Your argument of that an Oromo can learn Somali and claim Somali is very stupid.
Can a Japanese claim to be Chinese in 2022?
There are tons of better & practical ways to detect ajinabis than qabiil.
If an Oromo can master the language & culture, do you really think he/she will not master the stupid qabiil abtirsi?
