I honestly dont think much would change. Somalis in the west aren't even doing that well in the west what makes us think they will make Somalia great again.

If there was some kind of barrier where all diasporans were first returned home, and Somalis collectively could no longer leave their homeland, it would mean the local leaders would have no far away safe place to sent their kids to for education, while they deny the same for local kids, no foreign ultramodern hospitals they could attend for a medical emergency, while at the same time neglect the healthcare system of the country, no foreign properties they could purchase and live in, while sowing civil strife in the cities, towns and villages of Somalia.

If the world revoked the foreign passports of Somali leaders the moment they entered office in Somalia or denied the entrance of their kids and relatives for safe haven despite being in power, the conflict would have ended a month after it started in 91’.
