Appreciate it I know most nomads used to eat oodkac and drink caano Geel. But I had no idea rice was not apart of the Somali traditional diet .You can be fat and still be malnourished it's about the nutrients you eat not the quantity. Historically Somalis ate meats, and alot of dairy. Modern diet today is mainly carbohydrates such as pasta, rice which have add no nutritional benefit apart from fiber.

In the Baadiya, I heard some people use to drink only milk for days in times of drought when food and water scarce. Old Somalis had a David Goggins level of robustness. This why you get those reports of Somali warriors being described as some of the more resilient people on earth.
The good teeth is also probably because of miswak useI think Somalis actually looked physically better in the past compared to (today). It's evident from their better teeth (with no need for orthodontic work) and better facial symmetry (courtesy of examining older photo graphs). That's normally the case when your diet is rich in fat soluble vitamins A,E,D,K. Well at least according to Medical Anthropologists (traditional food staples are a must).
