I bought Air Force 1s and an mp3 player when I got my first paycheque at 16. I think I spent the rest of $5 footlong at Subway and Doritos or something.

Those were gaajo times. I think I was paid like $9.50 which was enough for two McDonald's junior chicken meals. You can't even get 1 regular meal at McDonald's for minimum wage now (I think it's $15/hr now). I had a Nokia 9910 back then while everyone else had the IPhone 3 or whatever it was. I had to get the mp3 to listen to my music.
