How did Djibouti get recognition? Mashallah I think it's a beautiful thing, but what ways did they get to be their own Country?
Mohamed Siad Barre AUN was the man that gave Djibouti independence and saved them from French oppression.
It was an accident of history. The powers that be intended for it to join either somalia or ethiopia but both were at war at the time. Lines will be redrawn in the near future imo
Referendums in 58 and 67 were rigged by france in favor of the minority treacherous dankali. But it worked out well in the end

@Sheikh stop bringing your uncle into everything, nobody cares.
"lucky to gain independence"
What a way to remember the struggle for Gobanimo. Some ppl need a DNA check in here
Djibouti's freedom came with the blood of martyrs and they had their brothers in Somalia by their side.
After independence Somalia provided $6 billion (approx $20 billion in today's money) in aid to smoothen the transition
Independence doesn't come easy
You don't need to project your negativity and anti-Somali attitudes onto others. The Somalis overwhelming wanted to join their brothers but thats not how it played out. @Kingcobra who is actually from there just explained. You don't get me, I meant they were lucky not to be part of Somalia, because they got their independent very late, that's the reason why they are enjoying with independent country today, not being part of hell hole Somakia aka the Amisom colony.
