My two nephews called me the other day to take them to their favorite Somali barber. I know the dude. I am aware that the guy is asking for $60 a cut. They are totally packed today because it’s the weekend of the Eid.

Therefore I have improvised. I am taking them to a madoow that has no idea about Eid (for just $30…ever since the pandemic the Haircut price has risen tremendously ).

How much does it cost otherwise? I cut my hair for 15 dollars, 20 dollars tops. They should have gone two weeks ago and this would not be a problem.

60 dollars for what? Lol all them arabs do is default fades anyways (I dont cut fade).

I pay 1.5 dollars for mine :damn:

Welcome to somalia habibi

Where in Somalia ?

Last year I was going to the barber in Somalia every week. They do know how to cut but that wasn’t it. I loved how they pamper you. The head massage and the head washing. They go to the extra yard. (I always went to a Habeshi barbers in Hargeisa).

if they had gone 2 weeks ago their hair would’ve grown back

I went to a Somali barber last week. He charged me $30. I didn't know it went up this much until the barber announced it at the end when he already did the work. I used to do it myself, so I am gonna go back to that way.

Nah walal unlike SL the shop is owned by somalis, same with the ethiopian restaurants here. They get paid a fixed salary and return once they saved enough. They are only here because their skills are more in demand in somalia

Cilan saar prices triples on eid.

I wanted to do something nice for my baby sisters so I took them to this Muslim sudani lady yesterday. Total rip off, I spent $350. The henna designs don't look good and she only does hands (no henna on their legs).

At least the little ones seem happy..

Why not Somalis? The most I heard this ciid is $60.

Nobody speaks on this real pandemic occurring the last 5-10 years. Barbershops went from $15 a decent haircut to 40 dollars for a half ass haircut.

Being a barber is now a 6 figure profession lmao.

In Somaliland, the barbershops are owned by Somalis. They just employ these Ethiopians.

This one Barbershop in Hargeisa called GENTLEMENS is owned by a dude who left Kentucky, USA. What a smart guy. His place is super busy. He literally built a barbershop similar to black barbershop in the US. He decked it with TVs, with latest cutting equipments, clean and orderly. He charges $5 a cut. This includes a shoulder massage, head wash and head massage. Walahi I kept going back every week. I kept this one barber to cut it for me cause he was really expert on it.
