I want to ask Somalis if Somalia truly has parties based on strongly held beliefs, economic policies, climate change, security, and foreign policy. Then show me one party that stands on something or else we can assume they simply here for power and not so much an agenda or program.
These questions need answering by any party in Somalia and I know none will answer as they have no clue how these matters form the backbone of govt direction and it's the things ppl do not share the same view on irrespective of clan.
1. Head of state I prefer a monarchy not a republic and believe the govt/courts/parliament all fall under the aristocracy and saldanads since they are the historical institutions of the land and their power and influence is far more wider then elected govt/parliament/courts with official head of state powers. If your a republican please explain how this is compatible with Somali historical institutions and culture of 'different clan development stages' socially/politically/economically
2. Economic policy. Are they Pro FDI/Local/Diaspora investment or a mix do they have any idea how to start up the engine of banking so the local market has capital infrastructure to create start ups. What Is their economic agenda for mass unskilled job creation like factory/agriculture/fishery/natural resources. Do they have skilled economic plan for professionals-tech-medicals-academics-finance-law? Do they have migration plan from unskilled to skilled economy ratio to gdp. What industries are being on the govt agenda for maximum value production and what 'scientific grounding' supports it? Furniture-Bedding-Furniture-Boats-Trades and other high cost in demand goods should be left to the local market to manufacture and does the govt have an import 'tariff' in place to make imports unattractive? These large product items need to remain locally produced and allow it to mature before opening up imports so a monopoly doesn't emerge on pricing?
What's the govt policy to mature our struggling industries if imports are flooding the market? What side of the supply chain of high end valued products should be targetted and what's the investment to benefit and human capital and infrastructure rationale to support it?
3. Security locally and foreign. Are you at peace with the world and joining the development race or are u going against global consensus and war mongering. Local security, terrorism can only end when the people root them out themselves, what is govt plan to hold each town or neighborhood accountable for terrorists caught who lived or operated in their area? is their commitee that can be named for each town and neighborhood who reports suspicious behaviours?
4. Secular for Islamism. Are you believer of freedom and joining the free world and have a govt grounded in protecting people freedom which is a gift of god that sholdn't be trampled on by any human being or dictated too? Is Freedom or God Law first to you? How can God Law be first if people are not free? hence freedom being the foundation of the law is consistent with religion and religion being a choice and not a law is also consistent with religion.
5. Health/Education policies and investments into increasing these targets for health and education outcomes for various age brackets as they are the human infrastructure
6. Taxation laws and are you seeking to create mixed wealth class of low-middle-high or just high n low and no middle. Which class will be the engine of your society and national wealth? a thin top, heavy middle, light bottom? or do u support large top, medium middle, large bottom? please present your economic model based on wealth classes you seek to create by your govt intervention or tax laws and redistribution policies.
These are the corner stones of political parties their belief system be it freedom or god, their economic platform and how it will be achieved, foreign policy of peace or war, local security and their ideas to solve it, heath/education, Taxation laws and their view of market class system and where they are trying to build is it the upper or lower or middle.
