What kind of political system did the ICU envision?

Does anyone have any idea what kind of long term political system the ICU envisioned for Somalia when they ruled Mogadishu?

Did they envision a Taliban style rule whereby an unelected “shura” council ruled forever? How would they have incorporated the different regions in somalia (like Puntland) under their system? Were they open to 1m1v ?

I don’t think they ruled long enough to get a sense of their intentions but any guesses welcome.

The ICU was a coalition of imams from across the South.

They barely had consistency in their political beliefs let alone any realistic goals towards Somali governance.

Many of the imams in the ICU were openly aligned with terrorists while some were moderate like Sheikh Sharif.

They couldn’t even agree on the basic point of their ideology.

A central unitary system. They threatened both Somaliland & Puntland saying they don't recognize their governments and out to overthrow them.

They have nothing in common with the Taliban whatsoever. The Taliban is a home-grown entity that is only focused on affairs within the Afghan territories. ICU as soon as they took control of Mogadishu, they said we will pray Eid prayers in Addis Ababa and Alaska. Taliban never threatened the West. Talibans religious leaders are the Afghan Mullahs whereas ICU is influenced by Arab Wahhabis from the gulf.

Taliban is much more politically savvy. They choose their battles wisely. A good example is that Taliban is now allied with the Shias, whereas ICU destroyed Sufi shrines in the areas they controlled.

They had no plan whatsoever, as someone said earlier; they didn't even agree on what they wanted (ideology wise). It is not the first time such thing has happened in Somalia, for example the alphabet groups USC, SNM, SSDF...etc who overthrew Siad barre had the same problem. It seems to be a common denominator for Somalis to do something first without having a clear plan of THEN WHAT. Even the 1960 union had the same problem.

Maybe it’s time to be quiet about foolish religious nationalism and think about a future for the Somali people my idea and that of somaliarchictecture it already has the whole capital design of the 70s to rebuild it next to Xamar make it the new capital tighten security impose martial law bombings will be unheard of qabyalaad will punished and law be restored a new Somalia may glory be upon this what our fathers wanted
