What is your opinion on mut'ah?

For those of you that are muslim, what do you think about it? If you don't know what it means, it's basically a type of temporary marriage where you agree to terminate the marriage after a certain period of time. It's pretty common among shias but sunnis believe its haram i think. Anyways, what do you think?

I think if used correctly, it can be a pretty good thing. Like you can test out stuff before fully committing to anything.

Some say it's no different from prostitution but i disagree.

thats a pretty fair take tbh. I think it has lots of cons too. I think there was a documentary about how it was used to justify prostitution in iran (or was it iraq, not sure).

Sunnis believe it's haram and they have misyar marriage that's their version key difference being that mutah is temporary and misyar isn't, pretty sure

Its haram, its basically trying to find a legal workaround to Zina. The intention of Mut'ah is to have sexual relations without the intention of marriage. Its Zina with extra steps.
