What is this Bantu woman saying, and is she valid?

Clearly she has a hidden agenda. In the end she claims that we enslave her ppl :westbrookwtf:
I can sense if someone speaks out of jealousy. The fact that somalis represent themselves well while her people remain underrepresented makes her sick

I think they haven’t really come to terms with the kind of society post-war Somalia is. Your security, education, job opportunities will be provided by your kinship group since there is no state.

I know they are intentionally looking to misrepresent somalis by framing things in a vague and deceptive way, I remember one said they were being ”denied education” or that they had to pay fees. What they meant was clans would open schools for their own kids and offer them free education or to a lower cost, they weren’t extending that to somali bantus who couldn’t do the same for their own kids.

They are currently disadvantaged by the absence of a real government but imo there are no real grievances they carry towards ethnic somalis.

They have fully lost it.

I’d receive even more pushback from kenyans if I was to say similar things and looking to paint them out to big bad racists. Two massacres on somalis, decades of political and economic marginalization ..mind you this was happening under an elected government, unlike in Somalia where minorities are facing struggles because there is no government to protect them and provide services. Add the public dehumanization of somalis by kenyan politicians and other public figures lol but the average kenyan wouldn’t be apologizing in the comments, he’d push back against that kind of rhetoric.

that’s true but hair texture

I emphasize with her frustrations but you are right. Being a minority in any country with a dysfunctional/collapsed government will always suck. Iraq, Syria, Yemen ect for example have minorities that are all in terrible conditions. Its not indicative of any real discrimination or hatred by Somalis but rather the unfortunate reality that clan/family connections will always come in to replace the duties of a proper government so Somalis will generally prioritize their own people first before Bantus. If you want proof that Somalis don't harshly discriminate against others then look at Djibouti, Somalis and Afars mostly live side by side in peace and share power together (Guleed still sucks however).

The online rhetoric of Somalis being these spiteful racists is simply deranged. In a continent full of ethnic strife and literal genocides and cannibalism, Somalis are the racists? Somalis historically actually have a very cordial relationship with minorities and never harshly mistreated them even under slavery. No revolts, no anti-Bantu attacks/policies after independence, nothing that indicates Bantus being mistreated, a far cry from the experience of Somalis in Kenya and Ethiopia. Instead its only a modern phenomena brought about by a dysfunctional government and even then the very system that discriminates against Bantus discriminates against many Somalis in general.

Despite their arrival through slavery(shameful part of our history), there really wasn't any real anti-bantu sentiments and deep mistreatment of them by Somalis. They was actually treated like another family member , the Italian traveler Luigi Roberto in 1890 describes it

This is why there were never any real slave rebellions in Somali society. Somali society wasn't a society that created marginalization in forms of serfs and nobles.

They also had many ways of achieving their freedom and once they did , they were given land, cattle and a wife.

The distinctions made between them and other Somalis was mainly an occupational one, it wasn't one of an ethnic or racial separation.

As far as 0.5 goes and the current powersharing system in FGS. It is rejected by most Somalis and it doesn't reflect Somali culture or sentiments. It discriminates against all clans and groups, it only benefits the elites in suits and their foreign handlers.

The South is such a mess, keep u minorities in check, aint no jileec nigga, i advice send these people home
Nigga we got about 1000 clans all not related to each other fighting clan wars with hundreds of minority clans waffling. Who will keep them in check when all somali clans in the south are roughly the same size in terms of land and spread out?

whereas in the north 1 clan can have 1 whole region for themselves which is wayyy different

But why do bantus call us 'jileec' or whatever, i understand 'lamagoodle' since it refers to the male nomadic attire, but isn't 'jileec' for cad cads? Somali Bantus are more likely to have cad cad admixture than the average ethnic Somali too
Doesn’t that just mean soft. It’s the opposite of the j word so that’s probably why

I’ve seen her video and I’ve always known they get discriminated against but like we’re living in a time that ethnic Somalis hate and go to war with each other as well.. and she knows tht so idk why she’s acting like we’re all kombaya

it is worrying how some have the belief that they're indigenous to Somalia. every city in Somalia particularly the south should make the ethnic somali population more than 95 percent so we don't have to worry about these rhetoric since they're always will be a minority. That would be my proposal. The audacity of some of them to really spread misinformation, people just using our name to spread hate and we are an easy target. If these bantus hate us why wont they leave Somalia. They shouldn't even be there if they hate us.
