True that my friend didn’t even know anything bad about the uk before I stumbled upon this forum even tho I have been to the uk countless of times.
Also if you peep the people who voted UK, they come from the diasporas that get more flack and shame in real life.

I voted on America because the other day they made their mothers cry on videos I swear all the hoyos in my country where showing each other the video being shocked and all that, and it takes a lot to make this hooyos shocked since they have seen it all from young Somalis in my countryAlso if you peep the people who voted UK, they come from the diasporas that get more flack and shame in real life.

I honestly think America but not for the commen reasons. I grew up in the Netherlands and since racism is a big issue here (and other European countries) you don't really associate with the dutch people. They even call all non Europe people Allochtonen which means foreigner in a disrespectful way. So naturally you will incline more to your own roots. You will never hear an 'allochtoon' proudly saying he or she is a dutchman/woman. As for America they are more welcoming in that way and as long as you speak the language your an somali-american. Some Somalis are even proud to say I'm American. The effect that this has is subconsciously or consciously you will feel inferior and start to see the way of the dominant culture as better. Thus you'll see allot of Somalis from America that cannot even speak proper Somali, and some even mispronounce their own name.
The racism we Somalis face in Europe also has its positive effects. You will be more inclined to your own culture and language because the dominant culture don't even accept you.

Great post and I fully agree. Second generation American somalis barely speak somali and are not culturally Somalis. They are also the only group who proudly claim the country they live in despite being the only group not aloud to bring their relatives over and their president openly talking sh1t about them. You would think after seeing how Ilhan has been treated they would have a wake up call. But they are too far gone

Honestly, since i returned, it is a bit better then the days of 2011/2012, where you can out rightly see a Somali committing a crime/sin on a daily basis

Somalis have the worst rep in Canada and for good reason. For one they in the city and housing is EXPENSIVE And they dumb asses won’t move so they live in cheaper crownded areas to afford a place. But who else lives in cheaper areas? Poverty and crime. Theresa multiple documentaries about Somali drug dealers and they’re even known to run sex rings.
American Somalis are the best of the diaspora because they mind their business, and all work or go to school and they’re more likely to integrate.

I think they’re all failures on a grand scale, but I honestly think the US has the best outcomes of all the above.
People like to say the Arab/African diaspora are doing well, although I think they’re living at a disadvantage in reality, and most don’t make it. The ones who thrive are few.
