:ohreally:Didn't know you was Sijui

I had a hard time understanding my sijui relatives when they spoke Somali sijui to me:noneck: That accent sounds very weird(in a good way) but also very miskiin :dabcasar:

I'm not, I was born in Somalia and grew up in London but my dad is a Sijui. It's a very cute accent and I love how they mix Swahili, Somali and even English when my relatives speak to me.

Reer Mudug have the best dialect. Plus, they're the most savage Somali's I have ever seen :chrisfreshhah:
The way they speak especially when roasting someone kills me everytime. Dabcasar is the best example, the guy is straight savage.

why ya’ll say ”macayga waxa/maxaa xalimo”??

seen so many say that on those youtube challenges. are they hooyo mataloo or do u say this too?
No that's incorrect
You can put "waaye" after "waxa"
But most people just casually say "magacaygu/magacayga wa ___"
Maxaa is like "what?"

Well, you don't say stuff like waayee, you say weeye, you don't say stuff like waxan ku dhahay, you say things like waxan ku yidhi
you don't say Gogol xaar, you say Gogol xaadh. You need to know when you use the dh and not the R.

Woqoyi accent is the right standard accent
Weeye is used in Galbeed, Bari, Nugaal and Mudug aswell. I find the word "Dhahay/Iri/Idhi" very interesting because even though I for exampel say "waxaan ku iri"(notice that non-waqooyis also use that form, but instead have an r instead of dh), when I want to command someone to speak I can't say "Oro" or anything like that whereas I can easily say "Dheh". If I want to use the former I have to say "Waxaad tiraahdaa" which really could be applied to any word eg. "waxaad cuntaa/sameysaa/salaantaa etc). So to say "Idhi" is right standard accent is not correct from a grammatical perspective, because the imperative form is non-existent. But I use it all the time myself honestly, sounds better IMO.
"Gogolxaar/gogolxaadh" is a word I have seen many use as an example regarding somali accents, but I have never quite understood why. Because the dubble vowel "aa" is not pronounced as it is in the word "xaar" that many would like to believe, but more like the word cheek in the southern accents "daan" or the word for bucket "wadaan". So the "dh" or "r" in the end does not set straight a confusion of any sort, which would be the only basis for which it could be argued it is more "right".
Lastly, you know reer mudug overuse the "dh" aswell? For instance, where you say "Waxaa jirta" we say "Waxaa jidha". Basically the "rt" are converted to "dh". But we are more consistent with it, we only use for when the "rt" shows that the word is feminine, whereas you guys use "dh" for both.

I find the reer xamar accent on women sexy, its soft and femine, waaqoyi accent is to aggresive and so is the mudug accent to some extent,
This.
I think it sounds so good when gabdhaha have reer xamar accent, but men should stick to reer waqooyi accent lol, it sounds too feminine when they go all "abaayo see camal, nooh" :cryinglaughsmiley: imagine ni weyn sayin that to you:gunsmiley:
