What is something that dislike about the Somali culture?

When people show up announced without calling or letting you know. The amount of times that has happened to me where I am wearing a baati, my hair is a mess, and I'm not even wearing a bra and the door rings. I don't even have time to change or put on clothes lol. And another thing is always having to be available for others requests. Most times I really want to say no, but out of respect and not appearing rude I just do it. How about yalls? I don't even care about spelling errors anymore diresgard them lool

Negative thread #1000
Where? Most times I'm the one preaching for men to be men and women to be women. And to leave this white feminism behind, but y'all love 50-50 relationships and crying about how it's hard to be providers and the west expensive. You are the negative ones. Thank u very much.

That is the opposite of Somali culture, we always call one another before coming.

According to Hadith, you cannot even look inside a house without permission.

Misogyny.

Too much conformity. Not everyone is going to live, think of like the same things and that’s ok. We only get one life.

I hate how problematic people who like to pit people against each other are not dealt with. I’m talking about the aunties who gossip about peoples kids all the way to the odays who declare clan wars. It’s why we have so much discord and feuding.

You're the type of person people take advantage of

I think most Somalis have manners in this situation. There are some reer baadiye here and there but majority definitely call and let you know ahead of time. Unless you are talking about extended family, that's open game.

- Being compared to your cousins, relatives ironic thing is when I visited my cousin I could hear his mom telling him why cant he be more like his cousin (me)

- People talking shit about others kids when they're own are doing worse

-People staring you in public you could go to anywhere in the world and the minute you see a somali they gonna stare you down

- Imams being given a high status and put on pedestals just cause someone has alot knowledge about deen doesnt make them automatically a good person there was an imam in hargeisa he got a woman pregnant out of wedlock than went into hiding

I got a long list of stuff. I'm pretty much Ajnabi to Somali culture. Some older and younger brothers be poking me (Juq juqees) while they're talking to me and I like sometimes gotta move back. I'm like can't the brother talk from the mouth?

And some people have called some others "Wax". Like the person is person so how can to call the person a "Wax" (Something) as if person is an object?

Toxic hatred, Somalis hate certain qabiils and ajnabis.

The loudness. In the west they’re very loud but in Somaliland/Djibouti they’re not that loud, i need some quantum mechanic bs to explain this or I’m used to to the loudness in Somaliand/Djibouti.
