What is so bad about seeing a psychic?

of all the things you can do for fun....why this? I thought when girl got together they tried make up and dresses on each other and talked about their dream boys and diss other girls while eating ice cream in their underwear. Why not just do that or does that just happen in movies?

We’ll have girl talk and libations too. Just a psychic reading as well

but you saying its only for fun, but part of you believe in some of it as well. Once you start its easy to lose yourself in. If they tell you that you will die by the end of the year you not just gonna laugh and it wont cross your mind ever again right?

Its not your speech, its the intended action.

The psychic has compared himself to god by claiming to know the unseen.

Going to the psychic (even if you don't believe what he says) is aiding him indirectly because you are helping him propagate his deviance by following his commands and rules.
We'll Allah has given some people the power to the unseen like jinn so is it haram for a person with that power to say that they have seen the unseen?

i wouldn't call it power, i would call it humiliation and subjugation they go through to interact with the jinn

no one can see unseen literally if one communicates with jinn its because that person commited shirk cause jinn dont serve humans untill humans take jinn as a god.

unseen is umbrella term, jinn is a fraction of the unseen who the magician interacts with they never come in their original form either its animal form or human form..

Akhi your intention is good but this is incorrect and it comes from the misinformation that some salafi brothers have spread.

Seeing or Talking to jinn, while highly inadvisable, is not shirk. Nearly everyone has seen a jinn inadvertently at one time or another before they reach maturity. Moroever, the Jinn have appeared to the prophets the sahaba and the awliya from time immemorial. They are just one of Allah's creatures and seeing them does not mean youve done black magic to see them.

Now, going to foretunetellers is haram because the prophet told us it was haram. What would happen is that the shayateen among the jinn in the past would sit in the heavens and listen to the malaul a'la (highest assembly) and then bring it down to the priest of an idol, who would then tell the people one thing correctly and mislead people away from tawheed by virtue of that. Likewise, there were some people (as surah jinn mentions) when they would go to a certain valley - they would say "i seek refuge from thr lord of this valley" meaning the shaytan jinn that resides therein. This would lead them further astray. Our version of that today is celebrities who are made to go astray in that same manner. Behind every idol is a jinn from.among the shayateen dispatchef by Iblis to mislead people (see baal and moloch that ilyas warned his people against)

Sihr is an entirely different story. It is that which the shayateen during the time of Sulayaman took from Babylon and taught to people. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Jinn. Rather, it is a series of acts of kufr and najis and misplaced words and knots designed to cause harm to a person without touching him so that what is actually false becomes true to the person. For example, he sees his wife as extremely ugly when shes actually beautiful. Once again, it is absolutely haram and takes you out of Islam but it has nothing to do with jinn other than the fact that they were the ones who first taught it and continue to teach it to people until this very day (see Kabbal, see Hollywood, see every famous musician today)

A lot of well intended but often harmful misinformation has been spread by salafi brothers in this regard because they are grasping at straws. They fail to realize that shaykh ibn baz had a student among the jinn (this is well recorded) and that all of the walis of Allah have stories where jinn appeared to them and they gave them dawah or told them to depart (because jinn are notorious liars). The net effect of this misinformation is that when some salafi taught people experience duaul mustajaab or a karamat or a personal downturn, they accuse people of sihr and working with jinn. Sihr is something so devious that even its knowers only give it to their most devious personas, not an aunty who is jealous that your daughter graduated publix health..

All that said, dont go to a fortune teller, your salah will be invalidated and you will face the wrath of Allah thereby.

We'll I kinda disagree, you don't need to commit shirk to get the powers to see jinn like Sulaiman as, Allah gave him the power to see jinn and control them and there are many more people Allah has given the power to see the jinn.

I understand akhi but my context was the magician who commits shirk by communicating with jinn to to commit sixir on people

I dont deny that my whole point in this thread was coming from the point of view of the magician who communicates with shaytaan amongst jinn to commit sixir this is shirk

since this thread is about the psychic

Salaam habibi

In this instance, there are two things involved. The first is him using sihr which, without involving Jinn, makes him a kaffir anyways.

Within the realm of sihr, there are spells they use to control jinn against their will. This makes him a kaffir and a faasiq because he is oppresing one of the creatures of Allah along with his sihr.

If, without sihr, he worships a jinn so that the jinn gives him a benefit or does tasks for him; he is. Kaffir.

If he has a jinn that is attracted to him and does his bidding because he is is student (such as with bin baz), then there is nothing wrong with this.

If a jinn is attracted to him, and he uses that jinn to harm people, he is a faasiq (a sinner) but not a kaffir because he has not done sihr (kufr automatically) nor has he worshipped the jinn (kufr automatically)

Also brother @Dawo the jinn, angels and human beings do not know the unseen. The ghaib is that which no one has knowledge of except Allah and which he does not unveil to anyone except a rasul that he is pleased with (as surah luqman says). Whatever becomes known through that messenger is no longer ghaib such as the angels, the Jinn, hellfire and jannah. Allah took those things from the ghaib and made it known to us. Likewise, in worldly terms Allah made various inventions known to us and they are not in the ghaib. Likewise, if you have a true dream or you know that a particular ayah heals a particular ailment because of a true ruyah that Allah gave you (this happened countless times in the history of Muslims), then its not ghaib because someone knows it.

The ghaib is things like the qadr of Allah, the exact day of qiyammah, the dhaat (essence) of Allah. These are things that no one can know and they are completely in Allah's knowledge.

We have to be careful in declaring people magicians off of flimsy whims that have no basis in the nass or athaar of the deeen because we will open the gateway for mental illness and slandering of righteoys people thereby.

But yeah the op should firmly avoid those friends.
