Guys, one of my friends in the country asked me about whether he should accept living in Somalia and continue his life there because the golden age of immigrants in America has ended,

or should he try to reach the West Even if it was tahrib(Via Libya, Greece or Mexico) and taking risks to find a better life there

Since most of you here are Somalis living in the
West, I said I will found the answer here, of course

If he can make a good living in Somalia then he should stay.

If he lacks the opportunities then tahrib.

However tell him all the dangers of tahribbing before he goes through with it

Why tahrib through those routes? Why not go get a student visa to an easy country to get into then claim asylum. That’s the new trend for migrants and it’s a lot safer.

tahrib costs a lot of money, just use that same money on a student visa and tuition fees for a cheap university

He is a hardworking man, but he despairs of life in Somalia. For example, he told me that he is now 24 years old. When will Somalia stabilize? After 15-20 years, then he will be in his forties.
Thus, he does not want to waste his youth there

He said if he does not find a legal way, then he will use illegal methods

What kind of a person is he?
Immigration is good, but only for the right type of person. You only want people with potential, grit and fortitude, and definitely not wastrel weaklings wandering about, for they shall likely perish in ghetto hoods, if not in the desert.

Best bright minds in the US are immigrants. Empires founded by migrants are aplenty viz Roman, American etc.

He is a hardworking man and currently works for a salary of $300, which is a good thing there, but he has ambition, and his ambition is difficult to achieve in Somalia in light of low salaries, lack of workers’ rights, and the monopoly of some companies on almost everything.
Yes, immigration is a good thing, it creates great men

Curious: what is his ambition? Hardwork is admirable, makes a difference, but alone is not good enough.
