What hotels are good in Dubai?

Hooyo is staying there for a bit for a 2 day layover, what hotels are the best? Especially for an elderly women? Preferably Somali owned but anything safe is okay as long as the service is good. I’m just a bit worried about finding her a good safe place for her to rest. Budget is less than $200 a night

P.S : Used to be called super 8 by Wyndham

Jazeera hotel in old dubai it’s run by Somalis it’s super super dirt cheap like 50 dirham a night for two beds you won’t find anything in Dubai for a better price. Also has a Somali restaurant downstairs if that’s what ur hooyo likes to eat. Overall a super safe spot very very nice people absolutely nothing to worry about she’ll like it a lot if she likes to talk to and be around other Somalis.

No it’s this one on Al Ahmadiya st right in the gold market. It’s well known amongst the Somali community in Dubai it was one of the locals that put me on to the spot it looks small from the front but it has three floors and tons of rooms.

Hey thanks again for the rec, hooyo decided to go to this one. I’m curious how was your experience? Is the road close to shops? Is the customer service good? Clean place?

Tbh the reviews kinda caught her off guard and I saw the rooms might be a little outdated and the air conditioning doesn’t work sometimes also the area is a little shady for a single woman. Many Indians work in that area…

She ended up liking ibis better, Walahi idk man I’m just worried because she’ll be on her own. If I came with her we would have went but in that district by herself? alone? Nah I get that it’s Dubai but…

Yess to all. It is right next to the main road with a crossing guard so it is easy to get across.

Once you get across, the gold market is there with all the abaya and Somali shops so you can wonder around and you don’t even need to worry about getting lost because all you need to do is head to the main road and from there it should be easy to orient yourself and know where you are. If not there are many Somalis around who can help.

Customer service is good. It’s nice, quiet and modern. Housekeeping every day and room service via WhatsApp. Aircon is nice and cold and you get a small fridge for leftovers. It’s a newer construction so it’s bound to be clean.
