What happened to the war on Al Shabaab?

Counteroffensive stalled and there’s no impetus anymore from the federal government in muqdisho, they seem more preoccupied with the whole MOU Port deal spat that’s occurred with Ethiopia, even though I’d argue they’d be in a better position to deal with this if they had a better security situation in regards to Al shabab.

The army has had to takeover security at the bases previously held by atmis after their withdrawal.
What is even the point of Al shabaab? They keep up this killing of Somalis and In turn more foreign forces are sent. They have been doing this for so long that most of them are old men now. What a waste of time and energy.
The war of Shabaab is a necessity. These mad men aren't going to leave themselves and we can't get anything done while they're here. So I hope the government secures some sort of dealt with Turkey or the US to get some drones or air support. Then we can simply bomb them till they're feeling and gun down the runners.

The fight against Shabaab failed. Now Somali focus is being put on Ethiopia . Tommorow there will be a new scapegoat to put the focus of the Somali people.
