We ran over a baby baboon when I visited the homeland. The driver didn't care. The guy was either high off khat or intently looking to get some in the next destination.

There are still baboons, wart hogs, gazelles, boars, big cats and the like amok even in the barren parts of the north. Just today I ran into two foxes on some of my land. If we green up the place enough a la the Loess Plateau, keep things peaceful and establish some national parks with artificial lakes and ponds I reckon the place will be teeming in no time.

They were displaced by conflict. There was a time lions, giraffes, elephants, exotic birds, etc could be found in Somalia. I saw a few exotic birds myself actually.

Do you remember how Robert Baratheon died? Those animals are not to be played with. If it charges towards you, pick up whatever is around you and use it. It might rupture open your leg muscles and hit your veins you will bleed out. It sounds dramatic, but that is no joke.

But you're right. This one's small as heck, tho. They're still ferocious and as you say can break open a leg but in that respect they're not that much more frightening than a wild and aggressive ram. But truly large boars are scary stuff. I'd shoot them on sight.

Yeah, I heard cases of boars in Japan killing and eating people, the bones too. I will never underestimate them.

I wonder how massive the boar was meant to be in the books. In the books Robert is actually a tall man. It's in fact a trait within his House for the men to be tall and powerfully built. He's about 6'5-6'6 in the books and his younger brothers sound around 6'3-6'5. For a boar to savage his stomach like that at his size... must've been a behemoth and it's weird to realize boars like that kinda did exist irl. Like I said, shot on sight.

If they charge at you, you'll fall. Then they stomp you with their tusks violently. The guy was very drunk too, I think, and had lost touch, so was not careful or in his physical element.
