What happened to Somali History before colonialization?

History before colonialization. It's insane that somalis haven't translated ours history from pre colonialism. There's goldmines of somali history written in other languages and even in ancient somali scripts but I have never seen people actively translating these works into modern day written somali or english

We had some artefacts stolen by the brits. They still keep it in the bm

Yeah but there's more than just artifacts and living in a neocolonial world. Somalis interacted with a lot of ethnics for centuries, there's gotta be waaay more documentation lost in history books of other languages

Sadly people take us as a joke. Many dont know that somalis were one of the first civilisation on sub saharn africa and that berbera is one of the oldest african cities at more that 2,500 years old older than most cities in norther europe today considered ‘civilised’
