It became political after that clip I showed its associated with certain Somali tribes giving it up for Oromos

I heard it for the 1st time after the MOU lol. I googled it once and apparently it means something like "peace", which google translate seems to agree with:

But I agree with @Khaemwaset that it's being used in some sort of "we're family" kind of way. These days I've seen most people use it sarcastically to describe Landers since the Landers are aligning with Ethiopians/Oromos.

It’s a Du’a in Oromo. Asking for peace to the land. It’s not used so widespread amongst all Oromos, mostly only Boranas use it. They start congress of Gaga with their dua and move on.
