This isn't true. Gaal in af-maay means camel. Abgaal and Gaaljecel also mean 'father of camels' and 'camel lovers', the Somali language has changed over the years just like every other language around the world. Nothing to do with Oromos.Gaalkacyo means where the Gaalo ran from.

Abgaal, Gaaljecel is a different sounding gaal than Gaalkacyo.
Honestly, idk about the rest of Somalia but I was always told that Gaalkacyo was once inhabited by Oromo then were pushed back into Ethiopia. Hence the name, Gaalkacyo.
