Idk what some of yall are saying. My dialect is whatever Google translate provides.
It's okay, we all know you're ajnabi bro.

Why would a foriegner be on a somali site? I'm proud of being a black somali women. I have no reason to lie about being other. I understand the OP's dialect which most somalis understand.
Hmmm...:notsureif:

Well, we've been having quite a few foreign infiltrators on this site as of recent. I'll take your word for it though this time.

Yanyuur is a Bantu word. The original Somali word is Bisad. An Ancient Egyptian cat deity was called Bastet (notice the similarity to Bisad).

Many Kenyan languages call cats Nyau:

Yeah, as a southerner I have to admit the northern dialects are purer (though you guys still use Arabic loanword sometimes)
We have too much Bantu influence in the koonfur :mjcry:

Lol, it is limited to a handful of words. I think Yanyuur is the most common one.

By the way, Waqooyi Af-Somali has too much Arabic. Adal Empire elites often spoke Arabic with each other.

So which area would you say has the most authentic Somali dialect?
