What are your views on private gun ownership?

Should Somali citizens be allowed to own firearms to defend themsleves, their property and nation or should the government/military(including police) be the only ones armed. Like for instance, in the UK and China where there are strict laws on self-defense and firearms.

Yeah im in favour of relaxed gun control in Somalia. If all the citizens are armed and trained then all enemies will think twice before invading Somalia.

The gun culture in Somalia is remarkably different to the one in Denmark. I'm pro private gun ownership cause i believe citizens should have the right to defend themsleves and protect society etc.

People should be allowed to have guns if they undergo a monthly criminal background check and a mental health check.

Over here, a criminal record check is done everyday for gun owners so having it monthly isn't excessive.

Im a licensed gun owner, so I have strong opinions on this.

I think anyone that's of legal age and good mental health standing should have the right to defend themselves. The "bad guys" won't limit themselves when they get armed, so why should we be limited. Also, citizens being armed serves a nice check/balance on the monopoly of force all governments seek to obtain. This is really important in a country like Somalia were the government is always rife with corruption.

Guns are fun too! I love taking my anti-gun liberal friends to the gun range and shoot the shit with them, literally. It almost always changes their opinions on guns.

I fully agree with you sxb, nobody can seperate a farax from his gun. All we need is relaxed gun laws and good criminal and health checks.
