I want to travel too, but i need a muxra. My fam (especially my mother) will not let me go anywhere without one. I don't have brothers, my father abandoned us, and my mother only has 1 brother who is so damn busy that it's near impossible to match our schedules........
aaaaaaaahhhhh! :damn::damn::damn::damn::damn: The difficulty of having a lack of muxram men in your family :mjhaps::mjkkk:

My future husband better buckle up for hella traveling :hillarybiz::gaasdrink:

For me, it's to graduate college, get my history degree, still debating whether to go to law, get my Master in information and science or to be a teacher, but becoming a teacher depends on how Somalia is in the next two years if it's stable I will move and become a history teacher and instill nationalism in the hearts of Somalis I'm tired of these weird idiots on tictok posting the most embarrassing shit ever.

Do u actually need a mahram in this day & age? I get travelling solo as a woman can be dangerous, but the women in my family traveled without men all time

Travel I need to out do my parents who have basically been everywhere before they where 23 so I have already failed on that front with the age but I plan to travel to more places inshallah

Islamically speaking your required to travel with a mahram traveling without one with no valid reason like just going on holiday is just incurring sin and isn't permissible. You can go up to 3 days and night walking distance without a mahram which is about 50 miles apox

Is it a major or minor sin?

Nah I'm kidding (or am I?)
I plan to finish my education
Get into the tech industry
Yolo life from there cause how tf am I supposed to know the circumstances of 7 years into the future, I have a vauge understanding of what I wanna do but even back in primary school as a little yute I remember everyone used to talk about what they wanted to be but I had no clue back then and I have no clue now.

It depends for example if your mahram let's you go without accompanying you he shares or I believe is responsible for the sin as he would be a dayooth for letting you potentially get in harms way as he isn't doing his duty as your mahram which involves protecting you and the dayooth is throw in hell and has many crazy punishments. However if someone doesn't have mahrams and is traveling out of necessity there is no issue.

As for if its major or minor there isn't really much of a diffrenation as what you incur isn't numerically specified and you can repent from all of them besides shirk which takes you out of the fold of islam. So I can't say exactly if it's major or minor.

Walaal respectfully why would someone get in trouble for oneโ€™s actions? These women are grown adults accountable for their own actions, why do have men telling them what to do? Tbh i never really like this dayooth thing, the idea someone can go to hell bcs a chick in family like being a h0e is crazy to me.

That's if he allows it which basically means at the bare minimum he has adviced her not to go without a mahram. now if she decides to go regardless then it's all on her he has done his part. You become a dayooth if you cosign or don't bother advising but everything outside of that is on her. Her actions are her own.

With regards to the whole traveling there are exceptions based on people's circumstances and actions and that's on a case by case basis when travelling without a mahram.

I guess it's an honour thing.
But personally I'd say there is good reason to worry. Travelling as a woman to foreign countries unaccompanied could be dangerous since you do not know the area and there is no family to protect you if you get harmed. If you have to constantly look over your shoulders at night whilst walking home then how do you think your would manage walking around for example Egypt or India as a woman alone

I am afraid it is not based upon one's common sense, but teachings of Islam, which are rooted in wisdom, potentially not understood by the common wo(man) in the West.
