I've never seen a pan-African that was actually African.

It's always an African-American or UK Carribean person like Chakabars on Instagram.

Black American understand the importance of unity. They have the right idea. Just don’t know how to implement it.

Hell no, we aren't arab either, we are our own group, the cushitic peoples.

We should be a single nation consisting of:

Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, South Sudan (because nilotes are also non-bantu), and parts of Kenya.

This massive state could have many possible names, though I think that just calling it Somalia works since we can somalify other cultures and standardize our language as well as arabic as another standard language.

We are muslim, and we love our arab brothers, but we aren't arab and should be the hegemon of our own culture group.

Somalis need to do what arabs and turks did to other groups, change their culture until they call themselves somali proudly.

Today amazigh/berber people call themselves arab and mixed greeks call themselves turks, tommorrow inshallah the xabashi and oromo and other will consider themselves somali.

Cushitic (and nilote) unification needs to happen, the somali macro-group should be realized!

Pure fantasy, and a dangerous one that is a waste of time for african nationals especially somalis

1-first and foremost because africa is fucking huge and way bigger than any federation / union save maybe the USSR, and look how long that lasted. Cultures are impacted by their location, this is why theres so many distinguishable cultures in Africa. A man in texas today feels he has little in common with a new yorker besides their love of the dollar and thats not by choice. what do the nigerian and the somali have in common? The algerian and the south african?

2-africa has too many languages, for perspective, the most spoken language on africa is swahili spoken by 200m, while the population of africa is 1.4b. even if you use a colonial language like english/french/arabic youre not going to cover enough countries. English is the best bet, but getting all the nations on board wont be easy

3-the incentive for north african states isnt there, they get enough of a voice playing kissup to the GCC and not much needs to be said on their disdain for SSA. Why do they matter? Because the 6-7 (idk whats up with western sahara) north african countries makeup 1/3 of africas gdp. This would be like the first 13 states trying to unite for America and Pennsylvania (wealthiest state pre independence) is still loyal to the british. Its not happening

4- the whole world is interested in keeping Africa divided and subservient . This is the weakest point imo because incentives change, but atm every nation worth anything is making money in Africa due to the poor institutional strength.

Projects like this, where there is going to be someone losing out on your emancipation (which is what the point of panafricanism is, to have a stronger more powerful voice internationally) they work hard to keep you. They wont have any scruples about it. If they need to destroy africa for asserting itself, their populations will welcome it because it means their iphone wont go from $1300 to $1350. And the person that would be losing out on your emancipation would be china, russia, ofc usa, canada, uk, france and whoever else has their foot in Africa. They will drop everything tk collaborate to work against panafricanism if it gains momentum.

Can Africa unite enough despite points 1-3 to overcome point 4? I dont think so personally
