What are your goals for Somalia

If you look closely Siad Barre was in someway shape or form trying to implement these ideas. Too bad his bad qualities washed these all down the drain.

I would like to see the federal states cracked down on after AS gets handled. I support them being reigned in to a reasonable extant but i dont support centralism. That will bring us back to square 1.

I would like the gov. to firstly start an anti-corruption policy you cant go anywhere when every dollar you spend to get stolen. They should focus on infrastructure across the country to boost the economy aswell as spend everything they can on education.

Fun fact in ghana the gdp would be increased 38 times within the childs life if they just educated children to the basic levels. Education is more valuable then oil.

Important projects would include well paved roads with black asphalt, cement sidewalks, and road paint/signs. This would greatly increase the morale of people and has a great effect on how developed you believe your country is. Bike lanes would be great and would greatly reduce traffic. Public transport would also be great at that but is very expensive.

Power stations, right now electricity is wayyyy too expensive and there is no capability for industry when everything is cheaper by plane. We need power stations alongside power lines running across all major cities at the least. (wouldnt be to hard with wind power)

A competent police force and judicial system based with our religous values. Courts should be opened inside masjids so that they give everyone involved a feeling that things will be dealt with divine justice. This is ultra important as crime rates right now are horrific and rape is something that can never be tolerated. There should be CCTV cameras everywhere public and there should be Dna testing like there us in Puntland.

Universities are a necessity imagine high quality universities across the country producing 10’s of thousands of educated people yearly that would change this country within just a decade.

Lastly healthcare, basic healthcare is important and the state should atleast try and take care of the basics so there could be a healthy population.

Tribalism is a disease people need an outlet for that nonsense however free speech should be protected. There should actually be recognized Nabadoons for each district at the least with a few additional ones for communities that arent majority in any district.

Feel free to add any more things you would like to see.

  • End of Al-Shabaab
  • End of all Qabil militas
  • Getting rid of all guns and other weapons and ban all trade of them, only the armed forces and police should be armed.
  • Create a federal framework and constitution that ALL parties can agree with and move on with.
  • Ensure that EVERY Somali whether a CEO in Xamar or an IDP in the rural lands gets a right to vote in all elections (federal, state, town etc.)
  • Increase transparency within the governments spending and lower corruption, the plague thats affecting all of Africa.
  • Rebuild basic infrastructure (roads, postal services etc).
  • Pass business friendly laws like lower taxes and land purchase to incentive business starting and increase the economy.
  • Priorities education above all other sectors of the government, getting a skilled workforce as early as possible is the key to boosting our economy, we're a young population with young minds after all.
  • Invest in state-owned ventures such oil refineries off the gulf of aden, this is how Singapore boosted there economy since 10% of all world trade goes through us, even more with the end of piracy. (Source)
  • Ban all goods being imported into the country except for raw materials, turn Somalia into an export-oriented economy, anything we buy, we can make, Somali jobs making Somali products.
  • If there is Oil, ensure that Somalia gets the biggest cut of the profits over any 3rd party organisations, that money should be divided equally between government and all states and should be used to rebuild the countries infrastructure to that of the arab states.
  • Sunshine and rainbows.
I'm hoping these bullet points can be ticked off within the next 20 years but only Allah (swt) knows.

Number 7 and 8 were good points postal services and laws for business and ownership.

Thank you, i really believe that passing the right laws, sitting back and let the private sector do it's thing would be the wisest decision to take, makes more jobs and boosts the economy.

The government can run state owned enterprises while easing business running for others.

Finishing the federal or confederal constitution should be step number one and defining the separation of powers between the states and the FGS. Without doing this nothing else can happen.

I was thinking of a policy in which you dedicate portions of land to nomadic communities and start a department that focuses on managing the livestock grazing patterns among other things related to the peoples herds so we could have all those people in the miyi come back to build cities.

Places like Jubaland that are around 80 percent nomadic NEED that to change quickly.

This current federalism cant go on but for the meantime states that are stable cant be expected to have common interests with states that only exist on paper.

There should be a recognized Dastoor that has core immutable rules that are reasonable but this should only be developed and finalized when all states are built and stable.

Having clear law and policies is second after safety for me, states and the fgs need to have a clear understanding of the dynamics.

I want Somalia to be country in africa with the strongest rule of law for commerce and civil affairs.

Right now most the rich in the emerging markets park their wealth in London or US.

However, if there was a safe African country with better yields opportunities then we can share a slice of the global pie.

You can't put the cart before the horse.

FGS should first create a safe place to invest with a strong rule of law within their jurisdiction and then others will join them.

You can only create a stable system through shared benefits not force.

Or you'll just get insiders selling out your country for their own benefits.

This is why the current FGS is in shambles...everyone in it has their own short term goals.

However if they all had assets within Somalia to protect they would be more likely to help build a stable government.
