No. I don't want to invest in anything back home until there is peace sxb. It's easy for you but where my family settles, people got robbed.

Also I don't know that much about investment in the west. I associate it with riba tho lol

I thought Jigjiga was safe for investments. Apparently land prices are increasing there.

8,9 and 10 require a tour guide. I propose me.. My uncle is a retired UN worker who was given the option to settle in any country. He opted for Canada. I visited him there once. He worked more than 30 years for the UN agency.

I'll go with my bus driver
:lolbron:

Oh wow, that is long. Yeah, it's a nice organisation to work with especially in your own country.

I already have invested about 50.000 kr from saved money or what amounts to little less than 10.000 US dollars in a diverse portifolio, and it has grown steady since then.

Now that I'm returning to the Justice Department I will get an additional tillæg/fee that I can bill clients for with the certification that comes with it.

However I'm not to worried about money as I used to be. If you have enough to feed yourself and help your loved ones it should enough.

Yah I can't enter Ethiopia. I was talking about south Somalia where the other half of my family live.

A lot of people buy lands in Mogadishu and Kismaayo. It is not exactly a no go zone. Specially in Mogadishu land investments offer the best
returns in the entire Somalia.

What did you invest in. Banks?

I am pretty good at saving. I saved 17k when I was 19 getting paid 10$ per hour in 3 years. I am not a big spender and outside food makes me sick. About 60% of my income goes to saving.

Well done young man. Save. Even if it's a few hundred bucks. It all adds up after a few years. somalis really need to learn the art of saving..

I have managed to rescue couple of relatives who tahreebed to europe, sent my uncle to malaysia and spent money on wedding expenses. All because i started saving money.

:cosbyhmm: I won't ask for specifics, but drop some deets. Is it going relatively well so far?
Looool it's ok you can ask, I didn't really plan to do it but more like stumbled on it :cosbyhmm:Basically painting/drawing is one of my hobbies. I used to work in a coffee shop in a quite posh area a couple of years back. One time I let one of my regular customers, this sweet old cadaan lady, flick thru my sketchbook and she loved it lol she asked me to draw her a portrait and in exchange she'd pay me :dwill:

Next thing I know she's showing it to all of her rich cadaan friends and I'm getting bare commissions! It's really time consuming tho since I'm doing it using oil paint but I love it lol, it's not a regular thing but every so often someone will hit me up

You should have finished the degree when you were 22. By the time one is approaching 30 they should focus on making money.

No way lmao If I had gone to university when I was 18 I would've gotten a useless degree that wouldn't be worth shit

I'm planning to study something that'll earn me lacaq straight away so it's cool

I want to buy a flat in London.
It's possible if I keep the hagbed going

2 bedroom flat? the only way you can purchase a flat in London is if it is a council property (you lived there for 7 years then you
will get 50% discount). Otherwise you will be looking at over £400,000 for a flat which is unrealistic.

Not yet bro. I don't trust Somalis anymore. I am just going to keep it as cash but I might buy a house here in the USA in the next 6 or so years inshallah.

That's the plan brother.
My uncle has a 2 bedroom flat that he doesn't use, his family got a 4 bedroom house in London. Anyways my goal is to buy that flat and rent it out.

I saved up a lot from Coop and internships and I will have a positive net worth after I graduate inshallah instead of being in debt.

My ultimate goal is to open up a Hardware design company that is joint with an electrical branch in Mogadishu , whether that happens before 30 or after only God knows..

Renting income London is mad. Somalis should have taken advantage of it and purchased when houses in London were decently cheap
back in 70s/80s. One of my uncles purchased a house decades ago in London and now it is valued at over a £1 million.

By the time im 30, i want to have my masters degree in economics, married and have a well paying job. Im quite simple guy so these targets arent far from possible.

And btw i want to travel alot, visit cool places like morocco, tunisia, eritrea, japan.....

So here i come 30:superman:
