A woman In Saudi cannot divorce her husband without her husband uttering Talaq or Islamic courts via Fasaq or Khula.

1. Divorce rates were actually very high during the Islamic golden age. 1 in 3 Mamluk women were divorced
2. We have records of westerners visiting Muslim countries and scandalized by high divorce rates
3. We have records of Western Victorians visiting even the Somali peninsular and being shocked by how liberally the men would divorce the women.
4. Muslim women, even in this day and age cannot divorce their husbands. Their husband have to Talaq them or appeal to an Islamic Qadi.

Blaming Muslim marriages breaking down on feminism is disingenuous since Muslims especially Africans and Arabs don’t have the same culture of divorce as the West. In fact historically our divorce rates were higher expect for South Asians who have the lowest divorce and that’s due to their influence of Hinduism since Hindu Indians also have one of the lowest divorce rates.

I have visited Saudi multiple times the internet is not real life decades long social norms are still their the changes are very subtle
The Islamic Golden age began 622 AD and ended 1258 AD, the Mamluks reign began at the tail end of it. From 1250 AD to 1715 AD.

The divorce rates weren’t the level of today and back then western women had zero rights to divorce, receive inheritance or get employment. So since they had no means unlike Muslims women who actually had rights, divorce was out of the question for western women. Hence the shock!!

They don't need his equivalent lol. Somalis have a lot of problems but our women are pretty free tbh at least. Some salafi lunatics would love to change that now tho in the name of "muh no free mixing". What we they need is a leader that pushes them to the next step which is encouraging them to work instead of being a homemaker. We're pretty advanced especially compared to carab.
Letting women divorce whenever they want is wrong. Women are very emotional beings and cant be allowed for that.
