What’s the source of Somalia’s energy for electricity? Oil? Coal? Why not utilize all that unlimited sun?

Costly oil is the source of energy for the hell-hole.

Why don’t they use reusable energy ?

I know why...Somalia government does not exist

Even during Siad Barre times Somalis used to get the oil for their energy grid donated to them. I know Iraq sent a lot for free in the guise of Arab unity.

I know they degrade over time and they're made of rare and toxic materials.
How much solar panels are needed to power a whole country?

The energy you produce has no way of being stored so you can only use it during daytime.

It is not very efficient

The best thing to do for a poor country is to build natural gas power stations

They say 1% of the sahara being covered in solar panels could power the entire world.

Reality is Somalia doesn't have much resources or power infrastructure throughout the land, localized/personal solar panels would be the best path forth.

The Chinese are taking all the natural gas in the ogaden, there's no way to access any other sites in proper Somalia due to instability.

It can not possibly power the whole world because there is nowhere to store the electricity, and it is not efficient enough. That is simply not true. All these countries you see that say they are using 100% clean energy are lying they use biomass such as trees and burn them for electricity this has similar effects on the climate as coal as it produces carbon dioxide. This is counter productive as it is more efficient and less wasteful to use fossil fuels.

Somalia does not have the resources to gamble or experiment with primitive solar panels for its power

I'm well aware of the battery problem. I know green energy is a scam my guy like I said I have a lot of experience with it.

But Somalis wouldn't have that problem as they could have relatively cheap individual batteries to store energy during the night.

Burning plants or charcoal isn't green at all lmao.

Also, Iceland's green energy is legit but that's because of their geo-thermal sources of energy.

Somalia doesn't have the resources for anything, it's the poorest country in the world with a unproductive and a large illiterate population.

Burning wood Is categorised as biomass which is disguised as green energy in the United States and Europe look it up

You are wrong solar panels are efficient effective clean Yes, you can store solar power. All you need is a home battery.

Some Somali ppl like to talk out of their ass :mjlol:

While it is nearly impossible to be 100% dependent on solar energy at the present day due to the difficulty of storing energy for later use when there is no sun such as in night, it can still provide significant power that will lower the dependancy on oil which will be good for a country that lack fossil fuels. And of top of that, it is clean. Somalia should invest in solar and wind power but they should first focus on other priorities that are more important.

A National Electric grid would make Somalia able to industrialize I thought of some business ideas but they were all impossible to pull off because electricity in Somalia is so damn expensive. people buy oil and put it into their own generator :mindblown:
