Why Aren't Jewish Women Circumcised?
Why aren't Jewish women circumcised? This improbable question, first advanced by anti-Jewish Christian polemicists, is the point of departure for this wide-ranging exploration of gender and Jewishness in Jewish thought. With a lively command of a wide range of Jewish sources—from the Bible and...

This is a fascinating book and a few articles I seen as well. If circumcision separates the chosen people vs the gentiles than why are Jewish women uncircumcised? And oddly why do places Judadism spread in still have it? Ethiopian Jews do it still. Is that cultural memory? They claim the Ethiopian Jews were isolated and stopped practicing to regain Judaism but why are European and other M.E Jews stop circumsizing women?
Imo I think its to controversial and clearly Judaism has went through reformation and female circumcision is a taboo topic and associated with 3rd world and savagery. However, some scholars argue male circumcision is barbaric and savage too since it is done on a infant who cannot consent.
I know its a triggering topic and by no means am I talking about the extreme circumcision of Somali women or African women. But the answer to circumcision lies in religion. I always believed it was lie that humans did it without religion but its been blamed on Islam but its seems all the semitic religion are similar and come from the same region. Thus overlapping exists. Its just that Islam is the scapegoat and least reformed out of the 3.
However it seems like Islam is reform proof since its already built in that any reforming is Bid'a which I think is/was a way to about too much reformers who can make the religon no longer resemble itself. Look at Darwin. He was ashamed because of his ideas of evolving. Once you remove so many aspects of religion than what's the point of claiming it. This is reforming can be dangerous but too much static is a problem too since humans and societies have to adapt to survive.
I think circumcision does need to end or have the age changed to adults making the choice. I think for male and female. Its odd because our Deen says not to alter the body. So why are boys born with foreskin only to have it removed?
