People are more unoriginal than I thought 
Somali men have no original cultural taste in the their own traditional clothings.
I feel like after the civil war the diasporas (even back home) forgot their own traditionalism.
They’re not familiar with their own traditional dress code.
This is excusable for the diasporas; but not back home.
In Islam: Somalis believes the more Arab you look the more religious you are.

Looking at the alternatives of macawiis and shaarti or looking like you are in ihram, we as men don’t really have anything.
I blame the ones back home for not preserving our male cultural clothes and now even the women are starting to wear the white wedding dress to their weddings. I really am tempted to make one of those thobes that you see Sultan Kenadiid and other garaads wearing in the early 1900’s. It’d be too much work for me right now tho, especially with only pictures as a reference
