You mean the same war that happened Ibn 2023 and that Somaliland lost and had its top commanders captured by clan militia? Somehow that is what you don’t understand or accept?

Somaliland asserted nothing in 91, they were whipped by the SNA the whole time! They just had to retreat as more pressing issues shown itself in the south.

If the SNM defeated the SNA like their supporters claim, why was Somaliland so divided in '91? If they had armed superiority over all of the north-west in '90 then why did they have to do so much fighting in '91 and '92... why did they have to negotiate with the Daroods in their 'borders' if they had been utterly defeated in '90?

Their extremism comes from hopelessness and wounded pride. After years of chasing independence, they finally accepted it will never happen. So, now they release that anger by insulting the Somali name, as if maligning it will heal their frustration. It’s a kind of psychological revenge, the only way they can ciil bax. if they can’t be different, they’ll try to make "Somali" sound qurun. But the outside world doesn’t care or notice; they still see one people. The hatred is just a sign of their pain.
