I made a comment agreeing with OP, let us all use the scripts invented by our own people. I can't be jealous of MJ osmaniya script when nobody uses it, all of Somalia, DDS and NFD use Somali Latin alphabet. Your family most likely used Somali Latin alphabet, so does PL government and as with all other Somalis everywhere including here on sspot.

But you didn’t invent anything did you? The Osmaniya script is an actual invention, meanwhile the Latin script was already in existence for thousands of years. You still don’t seem to understand that. We just want you people to leave us alone sxb.

The Somali Latin script is also an invention? It's not a completely new alphabet with the exception of three diagraphs but it is a new writing system hence it being a new invention by Shire Jama Ahmed.

I really don't understand the hype over osmania. Yes it's cool etc but it has very little history, it was used by very few people and has no historical and cultural background in the country. it has no practical use as while. Our latin base alphabet is also newer but it has a well established and widespread use and it's easier to learn. If we had to adopt a different alphabet for nationalistic or cultural reasons Arabic wadaad script would be more suitable as it has more history in Somalia but even that would be a crazy idea. If you want to use this here and there that's cool , I'm no hater but realistically it won't become the alphabet of somalia . We are living in a global world where even Arabs chat with arabizi (asalam3laykom , kif 7alak etc) rather than actual Arabic script and you want to introduce an unknown system invented in the 100 years ago and quickly abandoned

I cant blame the Kacaan though they couldnt predict future technology making their arguments for latin script obsolete.

Yes. Campaigning around literacy would have become significantly easier.
