We must do something about our oil

We, the diaspora, need to do something about our oil. I don't have a plan but I have some good ideas on how we can use our leverage as a diaspora to pressure the locals to get out of the away of the way of the oil industry:

1- Take advantage of our clan system and convince our clan elders, possibly with money and the promise of more money, to pressure the idiot in xamar representing your clan to never obstruct any oil deal we back.
2- Take advantage of our presence in the west and mobilize our clan system to act as one entity (I am talking about the south and puntland) and connect with oil companies as the "diaspora", the people who run Somalia's economy and who can literally sanction the government of Somalia using our influence. Then we must market our ability to manipulate our clan elders who are the true legislative branch in Somalia.
3- In addition to connecting with oil companies directly after securing the blessing of our clan elders by paying them 20-10k dollars (that's how much they actually cost) we can start calling our senators and MPs, preferably right wingers, and try to persuade them to add as much pressure on the government of Somalia as possible we can also use the current spike in the oil prices to ask for investments in our oil industry provided by the western government in return for cheap oil (the U.S subsidies ExxonMobil with $4 billion a year so this is not unprecedented).
4- We need to crowdfund a company and ask an oil company, preferably ExxonMobil, or a financial institution or whatever to own a 50% share with in that company and that company would be Somalia's national oil company (runs operations only and doesn't own the oil) which would partly be owned by a powerful oligarchic entity that owns some congressmen (which means any geeljire minded politician would have to think twice before fucking with them because these guys pay Somalia's bills) (We also crowdfunded a useless port worth 300 million dollars we can come up with another 300 million dollars for oil).

These are some ideas I thought were worth contributing. If you have any ideas share them. Whatever you do just don't sit around because you can actually make change (if a stinking swedish bus driver can be the head of parliament you can be a lobbyist and you can benefit from your country's natural resources). We are already the most powerful Somalis in the world and we need to take advantage of our current position and act like oligarchs because we are micro oligarchs.

only one problem: al-shabaab
Besides, somalia is the most corrupt nation and any profits will never reach the people to build critical infrastructure.
We've worse problems than our oil being inaccessible atm and that money will likely bring more.
Best to treat as a curse and leave it be for now.
ps: diaspora don't own sht and neither are ppl here low iq.

Al- Shabaab are operating onshore, the oil companies will be operating offshore. I see corruption as a good thing. It means you can get ahead with relatively little to no competition if you are powerful. Who said that money coming from oil should trickle down to the Somali people instantaneously? I think we should follow the American founding fathers approach at first, only few people eat good and have the right to vote, the rest have to earn it. There's a political class that's already doing that with aid money (Somalia received 55 billion dollars of aid between 1991-2011, 70% of which was "misused" by Somali officials) we can use our mere existence here in the west as a political leverage over them because that aid money comes from the west where we can vote and in America's case buy congressmen through campaign contributions for as little as 50k dollars. regarding the diaspora, You don't have to make +$500k a year to be considered a privileged well connected top 1 percenter in the rest of the wide world. If you make 34k dollars a year you are a top 1 percenter on world wide level. Now put in mind that the world's gdp per capita is 9k dollars a year which means the amount needed to be considered a top 1 percenter in places like Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, etc is much lower than that because those countries have per capita incomes less than 3k dollars a year. This is where corruption comes in handy, being a wealthy fat diaspora in African standards means you can connect easily with the powerful people in these third world countries, it also means you can buy officials and rig the game.

Sxb I like your ideas, i suggest you make a plattform where like minded lobbyist Somalis can gather and form an alliance. This can be something to try. I would definitely be part of that group.

"OUR" kulaha , somalis have a habit to call positive things as "our"
But whenever negative stuff happens is "theirs"
Looks like a good time to remind the ppl
Where that offshore oil and gas is located .

I like your mentality. I am aware of how oil will be shared. 10% is better than nothing. Moreover, tribalism is good and you will have to share some of your oil wealth anyway, Saudi Arabia spends money on all of it neighbors including some wealthy gulf countries like Bahrain and Oman for strategic purposes. Xarmajo is in xamar. Few years ago he was a modest public servant in America. Tell me why can't +400k Somalis in America and England step in and dedicate few hours a week to claim what's rightfully theirs?

10% of billions of dollars coming to beesha Mudulood damn didnt know this was how we were sharing. We shall lobby harder and get 5%from FGS and FMS and secure 20% for the local area.
