“Somali history is rife with clan conflict does not equal “what we saw during the civil war and to lesser degree today is the true Somali identity manifesting”. You’re retarded because it was a dumbass statement and because you have a Robert Maxwell pfp you edgy loser. Do you sincerely believe the Somali identity is rooted in conflict? It’s like some of you want to be perceived as animalistic adoons who are constantly fighting each otherI mean are you disputing the claim? Somali history is rife with clan conflict which is well know. How could the civil war after the removal of MSB be sum up as anything other then a massive clan against clan conflict. Tell me how I'm retarded? Is an identity not related to the customs of a people?
Yes, Somalis are a warlike people that often quarrel amongst each other violently that's not new. That's is part of the identity it's not the whole thing but it's an undeniable piece of the puzzle. What's not clicking here? In fact It's an age old foreign policy since colonial times to exploit this well known trait. I don't know if you need me to pull wiki pages or something. This is kinda as simple as 1+1 to anyone who has even slightly paid attention to Somali history and current political happenings.“Somali history is rife with clan conflict does not equal “what we saw during the civil war and to lesser degree today is the true Somali identity manifesting”. Sorry buddy but if SL wanted to be seen as different, they’d have been smart enough to not call themselves Somaliland. Somalia and Somaliland is far too similar and the silly name alone will always make people associate it with Somalia. Your leaders should have used their common sense.cope answer tbh and always said by people to deflect the point most people in SL already know theyre somali and the look is gonna be a dead giveaway which fine who cares but people will know the difference when we seperate, djbouti doesnt evoke the same visceral disgust as Somalia even though theyre the same people Somalia drags the whole name down and continues to do so, idc if some ajanabi thinks the way they do they'll think differently when presented with information thats diff, people see Ethiopia and Eritrea as diff, SL'ers as diff too but they have to work on making that distinction.
The name should be changed. Its ridiculous we want independence yet have the same name as Somalia.Sorry buddy but if SL wanted to be seen as different, they’d have been smart enough to not call themselves Somaliland. Yep, because even if you get independence people will always associate it with Somalia. Similar to the way the average non educated non Sudani can’t even be bothered to differentiate between North Sudan and South Sudan despite the populations from each side looking vastly different and have different religions because well duh, the name is the same. Yet, naive Somalilanders believe that they will be seen as different to Somalia when not only do they look the same, have the same religion and language but also share the same name . So I ask these embarrassing Landers who like to say they’re the ‘good Somalis’ what makes them think that if the world can’t even be bothered to tell the difference between a North Sudani and a South Sudani who look completely different, why on earth would they be able to tell the difference between an Abdi from Somalia and an Abdi from SL?The name should be changed. Its ridiculous we want independence yet have the same name as Somalia.
I don't think an ajanabi would mistake Sland if we have a new name. that's the whole point, for ajanabis not tiYep, because even if you get independence people will always associate it with Somalia. They are forever going to be lumped with Somalia, yet Djibouti due to having a completely different name and a lower population that leaves the country are never associated with Somalia.
The whole thing is straight up dumb really but I suppose in the late 80s and early 90s, people from SL didn’t care for a complete severance but just wanted to manage their own affairs and tbh they didn’t know that in less than 5 yrs Somalia was going to have the worse rep.
They chose it because their legal argument is that they reverted back to the State of Somaliland that was independent for 5 days. What I think really ruined their name was the creation of Puntland then Jubaland. Then they just became another state, another 'land'.Sorry buddy but if SL wanted to be seen as different, they’d have been smart enough to not call themselves Somaliland. We're changing that name. You people are naive to actually think we're keeping that name. They chose it because their legal argument is that they reverted back to the State of Somaliland that was independent for 5 days. lol thanks for proving everyone’s point. You made a thread of victimization then you mock the same people you’re trying to get sympathy from. ‘Everyone hates us!’ Why us! Then at the same time you’re out here laughing about the misfortune that happened in the South.Name change loading. Who wants to be part of this qashin
