Was this really apart of our culture or is this guy lying?

Guys exaggerating a little bit or used the wrong words, waxaa laga yaabaa ustadh Abdulrahmaan arintaan inyar inuu qaldey.

No one is going to state publicly that their daughter is ready marriage. We like to do things behind closed doors.

Whats more likely imo is that the father went to the unmarried men who frequent the masjid and asked them if they want to marry his daughter. These men have likely told the masjid sheikh or an oday that they want to get married, no one is going to approach a random guy who has not stated, if he wants to get married.

In the west, our masjids run marriage programs. That culture has not come out of nowhere, it was present back home.

Arranged marriages were common in my family and we are not in the wadaad circles. Unfortunately this has died in my family and overall in the west.

We need to come back to our roots and modify it. It should be a cultural norm again. I would put everybody kids at those lists in the masjid. I would also make sure parents present options to their children, this doesn’t unfortunately happen much.

We were spread out from Djibouti to Juba, practiced pastoralism (saw animals reproduce), and kept our abtirsi

Amharics were the banished axumites secluded to the mountains (high density to this day) and had no method of keeping track of who’s who

Who’s more likely to inbreed? Plus we’re closely related to the oromos and they have a short FROH dispelling founders effect.

I think the Amharic doctors were really embarrassed and swabbed out the results
