Isaaq know they must take Las Anod before any ceasefire. Once a ceasefire takes place, Las Anod is likely gone for good. This is why they are willing to commit all of their resources to this fight.
The problem is that Dhulbahante border Puntland & Ethiopia making it impossible to effectively siege Las Anod. As long as the Dhulbahante hold the city when a ceasefire is announced, Las Anod is won.
This is why Isaaq who otherwise would feel self conscious about advocating for the shelling of a city are advocating for it now. They realize the clock is ticking and that this change in the status of Las Anod is probably a fatal blow to recognition.
I hope Puntland is making sure sufficient supplies are reaching Las Anod.

Hell would freeze over before any harm comes to someone in Borama for the sake of a criminal and unjust war against Reer Laascaanood. There are more Darood businesses in Borama than there are Isaaq. The Isaaq own one hotel, whereas there are entire hospitality suites and schools owned by Majerteen and Dhulbahante businessman in Borama and they're all functioning perfectly fine even now. The Samaroon who are in the SL army are there for the money and not for ideology. They're in it because it pays the bills and many of them already withdrew from Laascaanood. Some even went to Garowe. Huge numbers are AWOLing.
There's a lot of fake news being peddled online saying that people/students are running away from Borama which is absolute hogwash. Nobody in Borama cares about your qabiil, ask anyone who has been there and there is no exodus. There are people online who benefit from spreading fear and fake news. Nobody can touch anyone who is Darood. The Cali Saleebaan quarter in Borama is thriving. One of the most senior Reer Borama whose been working in the local government for over 40 years is Marexaan.
