I've seen lots of people, particularly young naive diaspora kids say that Somalia would be better off if it was a totalitarian regime. They say this from the comfort of a liberal western country with free speech. Unfortunately this is a symptom of Somalia being a lawless country for many years.

But we shouldn't forget that totalitarianism is just as bad as anarchy, in all countries with a high standard of living there is a balance between government control and individual freedoms.

When you look through the books of history majority of it was ran by a form of dictatorship either a monarchy or a theocracy.

The form of government doesn’t matter the only thing matters is the leaders. Both Sweden and Zimbabwe are democracies but they have largely different quality of life.

I would rather live in a dictatorship that actually works than a mid tier democracy.

Also if democracy is the better form of governance why do we not copy that to every other situation.

For example a company is not a democracy or a household.

Democracy has been less than 100 years those developed countries your touting have been majority history been under an authoritarian leader and with the power resided within a few, yet all their wealth they have amassed have not been under a democracy, even with America has an example landowning white males had the votes in most of their history
