Life would not be any much different. just look at neighboring countries which have not had a civil war: Djibout, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia.
Corruption was still rampant even before the civil war.
Several droughts were not caused by the civil war, infact, droughts used to happen pre-civil war.
